Peninsula: Sister, You're So Beautiful

Years later, after SM Entertainment—the company founded by Lee Soo-man, the legendary mogul who drove K-pop to dominate Asia—was acquired, a journalist asked the former founder about his regrets. Lee Soo-man admitted to having only one: not debuting Lim Ji-seong at SM. When pressed for the reason, he gave a rueful sigh and said, "It's a long story." The same journalist later had the chance to interview Lim Ji-seong, now the head of Asia's largest entertainment empire and the pioneer who brought K-pop to the global stage. Asked about his own regrets, Lim Ji-seong smiled and said he had none, but he did feel a pang of disappointment—also about not debuting at SM. The journalist pointed out that very setback had paved the way for his monumental success, yet Lim Ji-seong echoed the same cryptic reply: "It's a long story." Finally, the journalist posed the question on every fan's mind: who was the real-life inspiration behind his very first song, "Sister, You're So Beautiful"? Lim Ji-seong only gave a mysterious smile and answered, "That's a secret."
