Bad Con!

For incoming first-year student Mizutori Ui, the start of high school brings with it a single, gleaming ambition: to finally step onto the badminton court and immerse herself in the sport she loves. With her racket in hand and visions of swift footwork and crisp smashes filling her head, she races toward the gymnasium, her heart pounding with the promise of rigorous practice and new teammates who share her passion. The familiar squeak of shoes on wood and the rhythmic thwack of the shuttlecock are the sounds she eagerly anticipates as she reaches for the door. But the moment Ui slides open that gymnasium entrance, her idealized image of high school athletics shatters in an instant. Instead of a disciplined lineup of players warming up, she is met with a gathering of club members so bizarre and eccentric that they defy all logic. Each individual seems to operate by their own set of rules, their personalities clashing and colliding in a chaotic swirl that leaves Ui frozen in the doorway, her excitement rapidly morphing into bewildered shock. As the door closes behind her, the bewildered freshman realizes that joining this team will mean navigating a whirlwind of absurd antics and unpredictable characters—and that her very first day of badminton is going to be anything but ordinary.
