Makura Uo

The conviction of moving steadily forward shatters in an instant, leaving one adrift in the gaps of a vast and unknowable universe. There, a landscape that should not exist unfolds—yet its shape feels hauntingly familiar, as though glimpsed once before, somewhere in a moment that will never come to pass. This is the threshold of panpanya's world, where memory, dream, and reality blur until they can no longer be told apart. Makura Uo gathers twenty-two of the author's short stories, including pieces such as "Rainy Day" and "The Cries of Trash," each wandering through that same liminal territory where the everyday quietly gives way to the strange and impossible. Some of these chapters originally ran in the special web edition of Hakusensha's Rakuen Le Paradis magazine, while others were released independently as doujinshi, reflecting the free, unbound spirit of the collection. Rounding out the volume are personal diary entries from panpanya alongside annotations written by the author herself, offering readers a rare and intimate look into the mind behind these quietly surreal tales.
