KUMOTSU NO VANTE

The Eighth Prince of the Susanoo Empire, Greed, arrives in the sacred domain of Kushinada carrying his own concealed purposes. But his journey takes an unforeseen detour when he crosses paths with Vante, a soul chosen by the divine rites to be a living sacrifice. In a land steeped in ancient reverence and suffocating tradition, Vante stands as a fragile offering already marked by a destiny that the gods and their priests have deemed absolute. Yet beneath the weight of that immutable decree, a fracture begins to form. Greed, whose jaded eyes have long grown accustomed to the cruelty of imperial politics, finds himself unsettled by the quiet resignation he glimpses in his sacrificial companion. The cynicism that has always shielded him wavers as he grapples with a choice that defies all reason: remain a passive spectator to the slaughter of innocence, or shatter the sacred order that upholds his own empire’s legitimacy. Their meeting ignites a desperate countercurrent against the relentless current of prophecy, binding two unlikely souls in a fragile conspiracy under the blazing summer sky. What emerges is a poignant and vivid midsummer flight—a rebellion stitched together by stolen moments and unspoken fears. Between a prince who believes in nothing and a victim who has long forgotten how to hope, an escape is plotted not from a place, but from fate itself. Whether their defiance can outlast the scorching days ahead remains uncertain, but their journey promises to be as breathtaking as it is heartbreaking.
