Bran Doll

Fen Dytry has always seen himself as elite, a proud and promising soldier destined for greatness. So when he receives an invitation to join the SDF—the Special Defense Force, the royal army's most prestigious unit—he is certain his future is secure. But a cruel clerical twist lands him not among the celebrated warriors he envisioned, but in a different SDF altogether: the Secret Discovery Force, a shadowy agency so obscure that its primary directive is hunting down "Bran Dolls," a collection of absurdly expressive, hilariously ugly toys scattered across the kingdom. For a man of Fen's ambition and vanity, this is the ultimate humiliation—a gaudy sideshow instead of a glorious military career. Yet the job is not so easily dismissed. Alongside his bafflingly cheerful and good-natured comrades, Fen finds himself dragged through a whirlpool of chaotic missions, dead-end leads, and undignified antics that test his patience at every turn. Beneath the comedy, however, a curious personal mystery brews: Fen unknowingly harbors feelings for a fellow member—a princess who, for reasons of state, spends her days disguised as a male soldier. And yet, the truth of her identity is tangled in such a layered masquerade that even the nature of her disguise may hold one final, dizzying reversal. As Fen gradually sheds his arrogance for genuine dedication, this unglamorous hunt becomes less about collecting ridiculous relics and more about the unexpected bonds—and bewildering deceptions—that define his new life.
