Training Batman in the Horror World

At eight years old, Bruce Wayne loses his parents and makes a single wish: "I don't want to be afraid anymore." That night, a bat appears before him and offers a contract. "Young Batman, I shall grant your wish—but first, we must journey through the worlds of terror." Thus begins a very different kind of training. Rather than traveling the globe, Bruce traverses nightmare realms, facing horrors beyond imagination. Years later, he returns with hard-won experience and becomes a Batman unlike any other. Time passes. Commissioner Gordon retires early and shares coffee with Batman at a quiet café. "Metropolis has worse crime than Gotham now—can you believe it?" "Mm." "Some people joke that your Robin is actually a bug that looks just like a Xenomorph." "..." "It's a joke... right?"
