Ladies on Top

At twenty-four, Mizuki is the picture of the ideal office lady—neatly dressed, softly spoken, and effortlessly presentable. On the surface, she seems to be patiently waiting for the kind of conventional romance that fills magazines and dramas: a gentlemanly suitor who takes the initiative, plans the dates, and leads the relationship. But beneath that composed exterior, Mizuki harbors a quiet dissatisfaction. She genuinely longs for love and connection, yet the standard script of male-driven courtship leaves her emotionally detached and uninspired. She has nearly resigned herself to a life of lukewarm expectations, unsure if there exists a man who could ever truly ignite her passion. All of that changes when she begins to take notice of Shinomiya, a colleague who appears to be the quintessential perfect catch—handsome, capable, and composed. Yet, as Mizuki observes him more closely, she uncovers an unexpected truth: Shinomiya is drawn to assertive, forward women, and he has no interest in playing the traditional dominant role. This revelation strikes something deep within Mizuki, awakening a side of herself she had never dared to explore. What begins as a spark of curiosity quickly evolves into a thrilling partnership, as the two embark on a journey to dismantle the very norms that once confined them. Together, Mizuki and Shinomiya discover that shedding societal expectations is not only liberating but electrifying. By embracing a dynamic where she takes the lead and he revels in her confidence, they unlock a level of intimacy and excitement that conventional courtship could never offer. Their connection proves that true compatibility lies not in following prescribed roles, but in finding the unique rhythm that allows both partners to be their most authentic, unrestrained selves—both in the boardroom and behind closed doors.
