Ayakashi Yashiki no Mayakashi Fuufu: Keiyaku Fuufu wa Kamakura de Youkai no Tsudou Ie wo Mamoru

Orphaned and adrift after the sudden death of her parents, Makoto has lost not only her family but any sense of stability or belonging. With nowhere left to turn, she accepts an unexpected lifeline: a provisional marriage to Chihiro, a reclusive young novelist whose quiet demeanor conceals a life far stranger than she could have imagined. Their arrangement is one of convenience, a contract bound by circumstance rather than affection, but it grants her a new address—and a new purpose—in the ancient, temple-lined city of Kamakura. Their designated home, however, is no ordinary dwelling. It is a weathered, centuries-old folk house steeped in history and mystery, nestled among Kamakura's lush hills. Makoto quickly discovers that the creaking floorboards and shadowed corridors are not merely relics of age; they are a threshold between worlds. The house serves as an informal gathering place for ayakashi—supernatural beings and spirits that drift through its halls as if they own the place. As a contract couple bound to this peculiar estate, Makoto and Chihiro must navigate not only the complexities of their makeshift partnership but also the unspoken duty of protecting the household from the very otherworldly presences that call it home. Amidst lingering spirits and whispered secrets, their fragile alliance begins to unfold in this enchanting, eerie corner of Japan.
