Peninsula: I Won an Oscar, Then the System Arrived

At twenty-three, Lee Mu-yan is a prodigious director who finds himself reluctantly dispatched to South Korea to shoot music videos. What begins as a temporary assignment intended to end with a swift return to the United States quickly spirals out of control when he is pressured into directing short films as well. Amidst his professional obligations, he inadvertently becomes entangled in romantic relationships with several prominent idols and actresses. His growing connections lead to intimate moments with stars such as Park So-yeon, who playfully compares her figure to Eunjung’s; Im Yoon-ah, who asks him to place a ring on her finger; and Han Hyo-joo, who confesses her developing feelings for him. Unable to leave, Lee Mu-yan remains in South Korea, where he is further compelled to direct multiple feature films, balancing his rising cinematic career with his complex personal life.
