Love Beneath the Needle

On Wutong Street in Jincheng, the Su Family Hall has operated as a traditional herbal medicine shop for five generations. Su Chang’an, the current keeper, leads a quiet life grinding herbs and treating patients, believing his days will always follow this predictable rhythm. That is, until Dr. Gu Qinghan pushes open his door with a cold demeanor, announcing her intent to conduct research on folk traditional Chinese medicine. Soon, other women enter his world, each bringing their own complications. Shen Qianxue arrives bent over in pain, asking Su Chang’an for relief, while Jiang Xiaoman, injured during a mission, warns him sternly not to call out as she tends to her ribs. Wielding his ancestral set of nine silver needles, Su Chang’an saves lives one puncture at a time, only to find himself entangled in romantic debts with each patient. As he finds himself holding someone close, heart racing, he realizes that while he can heal others, he cannot cure his own growing feelings. This is a story of an old city, an ancient apothecary, nine silver needles, and the blossoming romances that emerge from them, blending the art of traditional medicine with palpable romantic tension.
