Within the pages of a single scroll lies the secret art of dragon raising. The Dragon Scripture, inscribed with scale-like runes, holds the power to nurture all things into dragons—insects, fish, birds, beasts, grasses, trees, mountains, and rivers alike can shed their mortal forms and ascend. These newly born dragons, supreme among scaled creatures, bear nine aspects in their visage, delight in endless metamorphosis, and command the heavens and depths with equal ease, summoning storms and weaving clouds at will. From one dragon springs a hundred more, and then a thousand, until ten thousand dragons rise. To rear such a host is to hold sway over the entire chronicle of dragons, past and present—yet it was all begun on a fleeting whim, a casual act set in motion.
