Shuukan Shounen Hachi

Yasaka Hachiki—affectionately known as Hachi—has barely finished high school when he sets his sights on the notoriously demanding Onigahama manga academy, determined to transform his aspiration of becoming a professional mangaka into reality. Yet Hachi carries no illusions about himself. Painfully conscious of his own shortcomings as an artist, he steps into the academy's competitive world knowing full well that passion alone may not be enough to carry him forward. Within those walls, Hachi's path collides with that of Mikeya Touma, a prodigiously gifted young artist whose talent dwarfs that of his peers. Even so, Touma remains convinced that true mastery still lies far beyond his reach. The distance separating the two students could hardly be greater—and when an unexpected incident throws them together, it kindles a rivalry that neither of them saw coming. Thus begins the story of Onigahama's aspiring artists: classmates bound by an identical dream, yet driven into a relentless, unforgiving contest with one another as they fight to prove themselves worthy of the profession they all crave.
