Ano Shima no Umine-sou

At nineteen, Kazuma is unemployed and drifting—until he is summoned to Asagiri Island, a place rumored to be home to long-lost pirate treasure. What awaits him is not a simple fortune hunt but a new life at Umine Inn, a traditional Japanese café that also serves as women-only lodgings. There, he takes on the role of odd-job man, surrounded by a host of eccentric yet beautiful women. For any young man, the arrangement seems almost too good to be true. So begins a romantic comedy about island life and treasure hunting, where daily chores at the inn, the allure of buried pirate gold, and the island’s unusual residents keep Kazuma occupied. Asagiri Island itself is beautiful, and its surroundings are beautiful in more ways than one. With warmth, humor, and a touch of adventure, the story follows Kazuma as he settles into his new home, navigates the inn’s peculiar atmosphere, and chases the mystery that brought him there.
