Muv-Luv Alternative

When Takeru opens his eyes, he finds himself lying in his own bed—three years after the events of Muv-Luv Unlimited reached their conclusion. His first instinct is to grasp at the simplest explanation: everything he lived through, every trial and every loss, was nothing more than an elaborate dream. It is an almost comforting thought, a promise of the ordinary life he believed he had lost forever. Yet that sense of normality soon begins to crumble. A strange wrongness gnaws at him, refusing to fade, and when Takeru finally steps outside, the truth awaiting him proves far more unsettling than any dream: he has been flung back through time to the very point where the events of Unlimited first began to unfold. The past is not behind him—it stands poised to begin all over again. Unwilling to watch history repeat itself, Takeru rejects the grim path of Alternative V and makes a choice of his own. Rather than surrender humanity to its bleak fate, he resolves to stand beside Professor Kouzuki and help bring Alternative IV to completion—a final, desperate hope that may yet save mankind.
