THIS MAN: Sono Kao wo Mita Mono ni wa Shi wo

In 2006, a patient under the care of a New York psychologist sketched the face of a stranger who had appeared in her dreams night after night. When other patients recognized the very same figure from their own sleep, the drawing was released to the public—and soon similar sightings were reported across the globe. The mysterious visitor came to be known simply as "This Man," eventually fading into the realm of urban legend. Present-day Japan: Hakaru Amano lends his artistic talent to the Kumamoto Metropolitan Police as a forensic sketch artist. His ordinary life is upended when Hoshiko Akesato asks him to draw the stranger who appeared outside her home the week before—only for Hakaru to realize, upon completing the portrait, that he has captured the face of This Man himself. Horror soon follows, as Hoshiko witnesses This Man brutally murder her mother and Hakaru's apartment goes up in flames. When Hakaru at last comes face to face with the enigmatic killer, he receives a chilling warning: death awaits anyone who looks upon This Man. With the perpetrator's allies lurking within the city, Hakaru and Hoshiko are forced into hiding—yet Hakaru resolves to hunt down and capture This Man and his accomplices before they can strike again.
