One day, however, his wife announces that she is pregnant, and the news leaves him shocked. Tateo harbors a secret he has never revealed: the lower half of his body has never functioned. The child his wife carries cannot possibly be his own, and the thought drives him to despair. Around this time, a man named Sumaoka happens to give him a mysterious drug for erectile dysfunction. Acting on impulse, Tateo takes it—and is astonished to discover that the function of his lower body has miraculously recovered. He then declares to Sumaoka that he will recreate the medicine and produce it himself. But this is only the beginning of dangerous days that will change his life forever!
