Muv-Luv Alternative: Total Eclipse

In 1973, in the wake of the ruthless six-year Lunar War, Earth came under invasion by a hostile alien species known as the BETA—Beings of Extra Terrestrial origin which are Adversary of the human race. The assault claimed billions of lives and left Eurasia in ruins. While conventional weapons are capable of destroying the BETA, their laser-class variants can wipe out entire aircraft fleets, a threat that compelled humanity to develop giant combat machines called Tactical Surface Fighters (TSF) to fight back. The story moves to 2001. With the nations of Eurasia fallen to the BETA, the survivors have gathered at a base in Alaska, racing to develop a new tactical surface fighter. Among those assigned to the joint US/Japan TSF development project is Yuuya, an ace pilot with a foul attitude who has been reassigned from the US army. There he encounters Yui, an Imperial soldier. The two begin as enemies who bicker constantly, but as they work side by side, a relationship of trust gradually takes shape... Set against a backdrop of political tension inherited from the Cold War, Muv-Luv Alternative: Total Eclipse follows Yui's delicate mission and Yuuya's journey to overcome the demons of a past that still haunts him.
