Luciole Has a Dream

A sliver of radiant light pierces the stillness, pulling Luciole from an abyss of slumber so profound that time itself seems to have slipped through his fingers. When his eyes finally adjust, he is greeted not by the familiar hum of civilization, but by the haunting silence of a world laid to waste. As far as the eye can see, barren landscapes stretch beneath a muted sky—a graveyard of whatever thriving life once called this place home. There are no distant campfires, no echoing voices, no remnants of a society struggling to rebuild. There is only the crushing emptiness of a planet that has long since drawn its final breath. Yet, in this desolate expanse, Luciole is not entirely without company. A single, steadfast presence remains at his side: Claude, a mage who boldly claims to have weathered five centuries of existence. Whether the old spellcaster’s age is truth or merely the fancy of a lonely mind hardly matters; in a world reduced to ruins, a companion is a companion. Together, the pair forms a fragile constellation of two souls adrift in an ocean of nothingness. But questions fester in the quiet moments. Are they truly the last embers of sentient life, or does something else stir beyond the horizon? With nothing but the enigmatic archmage’s cryptic knowledge to guide him, Luciole steels himself for a journey across the ghost of their world. Their quest is a simple yet harrowing one: to venture into the unknown and uncover the final, definitive answer to just how alone the two of them really are.
