Your Lie in April

Kosei Arima was once hailed as a prodigy at the piano, his gift sharpened under the merciless discipline of a mother who tolerated nothing short of perfection. When she died without warning, the foundation of his world crumbled. Unable to separate the instrument from the grief it carried, Kosei abandoned music altogether and walked away from the keys that once defined him. Since then, he has drifted through life in muted shades of grey, trapped in a monotonous routine where the days pass without color or purpose. Having quietly accepted this subdued existence, Kosei no longer expects anything to change—until the day he crosses paths with Kaori Miyazono, a free-spirited violinist whose playing defies every convention he was ever taught. Her bold, unorthodox style stands in striking contrast to the silence Kosei has built around himself, and her sudden arrival stirs emotions he long believed were lost. Could this impassioned violinist be the one to guide him back to the piano—and, in doing so, back to life itself?
