At fourteen years old, Nozomi Onda has a single, all-consuming dream: to play beautiful soccer. For her, the sport is far more than a pastime—it is an art form she longs to practice at its highest level. Yet no matter how desperately she wishes to take part in official matches, that opportunity has always remained just beyond her reach. The reason is as simple as it is painful. Step onto an official pitch, and her opponents would be boys—players whose bodies are naturally faster and stronger than her own. However deep her passion for the game runs, that physical divide stands squarely between her and the competition she craves, leaving her talent untested and her ambition on hold while she watches from the outside. Then everything changes. A boy from her past appears before her on the street, and the unexpected confrontation stirs something deep within her. In that moment, Nozomi comes to a firm decision: she has waited long enough. Her time to finally chase the beautiful game is at hand.
