Henshuu Joou

Fresh out of the gate at a major publishing company, Kurumi Hiratoji begins her career the way all rookies do: at the very bottom. Before she can go anywhere near the editorial side of the business, she is sent to train on the sales floor of a bookstore, where she is expected to learn the company's products from the ground up. It is there, among the shelves, that she crosses paths with a peculiar woman whose devotion to books borders on the obsessive—far more intense than any ordinary customer or clerk has a right to be. Kurumi's fortunes soon shift when she is recruited by Comic Cores, a seinen manga magazine, earning the placement she had always dreamed of: a position in the publishing house's manga division. Yet a surprise is waiting for her there. The strange, book-obsessed woman from her bookstore days turns out to be none other than Kawashima, one of the magazine's own editors. Thrust into the fast-paced and often chaotic world of manga editing, Kurumi must learn the ropes of the industry under Kawashima's eccentric guidance—and with a mentor whose passion is every bit as overwhelming as it is unconventional, hilarity is never far behind.
