Aranagi-sama

In the stagnant stillness of his family's aging Tokyo estate, Sennoki Kentarou clings to the fading identity of a would-be novelist. In truth, he is a full-fledged NEET, subsisting on his lineage's dwindling legacy while the city's modern pulse beats indifferently beyond his shuttered windows. The sprawling, timeworn residence serves as both his sanctuary and his prison, its dusty rooms echoing with the weight of unmet expectations and his own wilting ambition. Kentarou's carefully maintained isolation is shattered, however, by a summons from his grandparents' rural village. When he blatantly refuses to attend their ancestral festival—a sacred duty steeped in generations of tradition—he commits more than a mere social faux pas. In his arrogant dismissal of the rites, he inadvertently spurns an ancient Shinto deity bound to his family's bloodline. This act of spiritual negligence awakens a long-slumbering divine anger, dragging the reclusive young man from the comfortable decay of his urban cocoon into a harrowing confrontation with forces far older and more unforgiving than his own self-imposed mediocrity.
