Minasama Etes-vous Prêts?

Chika Kuwabara exists in a perpetual haze of aimlessness, filling her hollow days with the flickering lights of arcade machines and the fleeting adrenaline of petty street brawls. Without a goal to strive for or a passion to anchor her, she drifts through her youth as a detached observer of her own life, her restless energy finding only destructive outlets. The world around her feels muted and indistinct, a gray landscape she navigates without ever truly belonging to it. That monotonous rhythm shatters on an otherwise unremarkable afternoon. Passing by the school gymnasium, Chika’s attention is caught by a solitary figure practicing fencing inside. The sharp, metallic ring of blades and the fencer’s graceful, deliberate footwork cut through her apathy like a razor. Where her own existence is chaotic and impulsive, this discipline is composed of precision and control—a silent, elegant language of attack and parry that speaks to something buried deep within her restless heart. In that fleeting moment, a dormant flame catches light. The sight ignites an unfamiliar craving, a visceral pull toward a world where instinct meets rigorous form. For the first time, Chika feels the stirrings of a genuine hunger—not for the cheap thrill of a fight, but for mastery, purpose, and the razor-sharp clarity of the blade. As the fencer moves in perfect isolation, Chika realizes that her true battle is just beginning: the fight to transform herself into someone worth becoming.
