Swallowed Star: Envoy of the Night

Upon awakening his past memories, Lyca realizes he has been reborn into the universe of Swallowed Star. It is simultaneously the best and worst of eras. The fall of the Human race has ignited a devastating war, prompting the peak races and countless superpowers to descend like ravenous hyenas, frantically devouring human territory in their desperate bid to claim the throne atop humanity's ruins. As a member of a weak and insignificant race, Lyca barely reaches the Universe level before his awakened wisdom thrusts him into a life-or-death trial. Will he be crushed into dust or enslaved by the strong? As violent lightning relentlessly ravages his body, despair closes in—until a pitch-black seed offers him a new glimmer of hope. This seed bears a single name: Night. Having witnessed the darkness, Lyca will use its shadows to shroud this war-torn cosmos, fighting to carve out a sliver of survival for his people. Set in an early timeline, the protagonist is non-human, and his advantage is subtle rather than overpowered.
