The Great Cleric

When the God of Fate of Earth loses a wager to the Chief God of Galdarudia, the price is steep: ten ordinary souls must be handed over, each granted a brand-new ability by the victorious deity. Among these unremarkable souls is a single Japanese salaryman—a man who, against all odds, escaped the death that destiny had written for him. What kind of life will he carve out in his new world? Not even the gods themselves can say. That man is Luciel, once the hardest-working corporate employee in all of Japan, whose relentless dedication ended in an untimely demise. Reborn in Galdardia, a realm where magic weaves through everyday life, he refuses to drift aimlessly through his second chance. A born planner, he reinvents himself as a healer and sets out to build a prosperous new life. Yet while Luciel has a knack for earning money, he knows next to nothing about the dangers and customs of this unfamiliar land. Can a good heart and an unshakable work ethic carry an earnest newcomer to true greatness? This is the story of one man determined to turn blood, sweat, and tears into a successful living—quite literally—and rise to become the Great Cleric.
