Hyouge Mono

Set against the turbulent backdrop of Japan’s Sengoku era—a brutal age defined by ambitious warlords constantly usurping one another—Hyouge Mono follows the extraordinary journey of Sasuke Furuta. Serving as a subordinate warrior under the brilliant and visionary Nobunaga Oda, Sasuke finds his worldview profoundly expanded by his lord's genius. Yet, unlike many samurai consumed solely by military conquest, Sasuke is driven by an entirely different obsession: his soul becomes increasingly captivated by the refined ways of tea ceremony and an insatiable greed for exquisite material objects. Guided spiritually by Senno Soueki, the legendary Master of Tea, Sasuke navigates a treacherous path where aesthetics and ambition violently collide. As he climbs toward greater political power and social status, he walks the singular road of the "Hyouge Mono"—one who lives playfully and boldly through art. His existence becomes a profound dilemma, forcing him to weigh his very survival against his devotion to beauty. In a world governed by swords and betrayal, Sasuke must answer the ultimate question: what does it truly mean to live, or to die, for the transcendent power of art?
