Welcome to the N.H.K.

Tatsuhiro Satou is a university dropout who has spent the last four years completely withdrawn from society. Living as a hikikomori, he spends his days isolated in his apartment, ultimately convincing himself that his reclusive existence is not his own fault, but rather the result of a grand, orchestrated conspiracy. Just as his stagnant routine seems entirely permanent, an unexpected encounter disrupts his carefully constructed isolation. He crosses paths with Misaki Nakahara, a mysterious young woman who boldly claims she possesses the ability to cure him of his hikikomori lifestyle. To formalize her unconventional intervention, she presents Tatsuhiro with a binding contract. The agreement stipulates that they must meet once every evening at a nearby park, where Misaki will deliver structured lectures designed to dismantle his reclusive habits and reintegrate him into the world. As their daily sessions unfold, the conversations between them cover a wide array of topics. However, these discussions consistently circle back to themes rooted in psychology and psychoanalysis. Through this peculiar arrangement, Tatsuhiro is forced to confront the mental barriers that have kept him confined, guided by a stranger whose true motives remain as enigmatic as the conspiracy he believes controls his life.
