Akimi is a high school girl living on a picturesque island nestled within the Seto Inland Sea. Despite the serene and beautiful surroundings, her home life is overshadowed by deep emotional turmoil. Her mother has fallen into profound unhappiness following the revelation of her father’s affair, leaving their household fractured and heavy with sorrow. For Akimi, the tranquil scenery of the island stands in stark contrast to the quiet pain that defines her daily existence. Her routine is unexpectedly disrupted when she meets Kai, a new transfer student who has recently arrived on the island. Unlike those fleeing hardship, Kai relocated because of his free-spirited mother, whose unconventional approach to life led them to this coastal haven. As the two teenagers form a friendship, they navigate the complexities of their respective family dynamics. Bound together by the quiet isolation of island life, Akimi and Kai begin to find solace in each other's company, forging a connection that offers a glimmer of hope against the backdrop of their personal struggles.
