Neko wo Hirotta Hanashi

On a rain-soaked day, Igai finds and takes in a stray: a creature with one eye and three legs. He calls it a cat, but that label never settles comfortably. The animal’s missing eye and limb are not the only things that trouble him; what nags at Igai is a quieter, stranger uncertainty. He cannot fully convince himself that what he has rescued is actually a cat at all. That doubt becomes the heart of his dilemma. Having brought the creature into his care, Igai must decide how to treat it, what to call it, and whether his instinct to see a cat is genuine recognition or merely wishful thinking. The rainy encounter that begins the story gives way to an ongoing question: if he is wrong about what he picked up, what exactly is sharing his life? The manga follows Igai’s uneasy bond with the one-eyed, three-legged stray, balancing everyday care with the unsettling possibility that its true nature remains just out of reach.
