By his side is Shiro, an admirable young boy who assists with the daily operations of the store, bringing a sense of warmth and dedication to their shared routine. To any casual observer, the shop appears to be nothing more than a peaceful sanctuary for lovers of rare and forgotten texts. However, beneath this tranquil surface lies a far more unsettling reality. Beyond his duties as a humble bookseller, Shoutaro secretly undertakes a much darker occupation. He is tasked with tracking down and collecting a specific category of old books—tomes that are deeply unpleasant and inherently disturbing in nature. This hidden responsibility transforms his otherwise ordinary existence into something far more complex, forcing him to navigate a shadowy world where the written word carries a weight far heavier than mere ink and paper.
