Cursed Castle

"Norowareta Shiro" is a manga anthology comprising four distinct stories: "Stella Vista," "The Lost Jewel," "Run Alice," and the titular tale, "Cursed Castle." Each narrative explores its own unique mystery, culminating in a gothic journey that intertwines suspense with dark folklore. The final story centers on Wendy, a beautiful, intelligent, and refined young girl living in an orphanage in downtown London. Her life changes abruptly when she is adopted by a wealthy gentleman known as Sir Silence. He takes her to his remote estate, a secluded land where the rituals of ancient religions remain deeply rooted in the local culture. In this isolated region, the inhabitants still hold steadfast beliefs in the existence of demons, fairies, and giants lurking just beyond the veil of the modern world. Upon arriving at Sir Silence's imposing old castle, Wendy finds herself enveloped in an atmosphere of ancient secrets and lingering superstitions. Rather than simply adjusting to her new aristocratic life, she begins a quiet investigation into her own past. Driven by unanswered questions, she attempts to uncover the truth about the parents who abandoned her, hoping the mysterious estate holds the clues she desperately seeks.
