The Pearl Cornucopia

Set during the era of the Plantagenets, when England was transitioning from a royal domain into a kingdom still governed by Catholic rule, a weary soldier named Jayden has reached the end of his rope. Having lost his fingers in war, he collapses on the road with nowhere left to go and no strength to continue.
