Mo Mai

Lin Mu has always been the radiant center of his family, a bright and warm presence who grew up alongside his sister, Lin Chao, who was born deaf. To those around him, he is a guiding light, constantly bringing warmth into their lives. In stark contrast stands Lu Rong, a tall and handsome young man burdened by tragedy far too early. Orphaned at a tender age, he was forced to mature rapidly while caring for his grandmother, who suffers from Alzheimer's disease, sacrificing the carefree innocence that should have defined his youth. Their contrasting worlds eventually intersect at Kunqian, an educational institution dedicated to serving individuals with special needs. Lin Mu arrives as a vibrant spark, while Lu Rong remains guarded and silent. Surrounded by a unique circle of classmates—including peers who are deaf, visually impaired, or living with cerebral palsy—the two boys begin to navigate the complexities of adolescence together. It is within this supportive environment that Lin Mu gently breaks through Lu Rong’s defenses, offering him understanding rather than pity. Acknowledging the walls Lu Rong has built, Lin Mu simply tells him there is no need to be so guarded, because having a sister like his own means he truly understands. With a quiet acceptance, Lu Rong finally begins to let someone in.
