In the spring of 1998, a transfer student named Kouichi Sakakibara joins the third-year classroom of a middle school, where he is drawn into a mysterious atmosphere that has lingered since the sudden death of a student named Misaki 26 years prior. As Kouichi becomes more involved with his classmates, he becomes suspicious of the fearful and eerie presence that still pervades the classroom, particularly surrounding a beautiful and aloof girl named Misaki Mei who wears an eyepatch and spends her days drawing.
