Soukyuu no Ariadne

Lacile lives a secluded existence in the mountains with his grandfather and two younger sisters, yet his gaze remains perpetually fixed on the horizon. He harbors a deep longing to witness the legendary Flying City of the Heavens, a dream that seems destined to remain unfulfilled until a chance encounter alters his fate. He meets Leana, an enigmatic girl who possesses the unusual trait of floating uncontrollably unless anchored by heavy steel boots. Like Lacile, she yearns for freedom, wishing to experience the outside world at least once before being forced into an arranged marriage. Their fleeting moment of connection is shattered when mechanical soldiers arrive in pursuit of Leana, revealing her true identity as the princess of the Ariadne Empire. Lacile discovers that the fabled city he has always admired is not merely a myth but her actual home, suspended high above the earth. As he becomes entangled in her flight from royal obligation and military forces, his childhood fantasy transforms into a perilous reality. Together, they must navigate a world where dreams of the sky collide with the harsh demands of duty and destiny.
