Hinako struggles deeply with interpersonal communication. Whenever she attempts to speak, anxiety overtakes her, leaving her frozen and unable to articulate her thoughts. Determined to overcome this debilitating barrier, she leaves her quiet rural hometown for the bustling city of Tokyo. Her goal is to enroll in a high school renowned for its prestigious theater club, hoping that performing will help her find her voice. However, upon arriving, she discovers a devastating setback: the very club she traveled so far to join has been completely disbanded. Undeterred by this unexpected hurdle, Hinako finds hope within the walls of her new boarding house. There, she forms meaningful bonds with an eclectic group of girls who become her closest allies. Among them are a compassionate upperclassman with a past as a child actress, a timid girl harboring a deep fascination for maid attire, and a literature enthusiast who possesses a literal appetite for books.
