Pilgrim Jäger

Set against the turbulent backdrop of Europe in 1521, during the height of the Protestant Reformation, Pilgrim Jäger is a historical fiction manga that follows the perilous journey of two extraordinary women. Adele, a skilled acrobat, and Karin, a gifted fortuneteller, possess abilities that could easily lead to accusations of witchcraft in such an unforgiving era. To survive, they carefully conceal their true nature, traveling as ordinary performers to earn a living while pursuing a singular, desperate goal: accumulating enough wealth to purchase indulgences from the Catholic Church in hopes of absolving their sins. However, maintaining this fragile disguise proves impossible as their unique powers inevitably draw them into a far greater conflict. What begins as a quiet quest for spiritual salvation quickly escalates when the pair becomes entangled in a sweeping religious struggle that threatens to reshape the continent. Their path collides with the ambitions of powerful dynasties, including the Medici and Este families, and the lingering influence of Girolamo Savonarola’s prophecies. As historical forces converge around them, Adele and Karin find themselves at the center of a dangerous battle where faith, politics, and power are inextricably linked.
