The Demon Girl Next Door

Fifteen-year-old Yuko Yoshida has always lived a remarkably ordinary life, though her family struggles constantly with poverty. Everything changes overnight when she suddenly sprouts demonic horns and a tail. Her mother reveals the startling truth: Yuko is actually Shadow Mistress Yuko, a demon whose powers were sealed away by an ancient curse that condemned her bloodline to generations of financial hardship. To break this generational hex, Yuko must defeat Momo Chiyoda, a magical girl who happens to attend her very same school. However, executing this plan proves far more complicated than anticipated. Momo is not only significantly stronger and highly skilled in managing her magical abilities, but she is also overwhelmingly kindhearted. Rather than treating Yuko as an enemy, the generous magical girl repeatedly steps in to rescue her from various predicaments. Physically weak and hopelessly uncoordinated, Yuko lacks the capability to overpower her target, even if she harbored the desire to do so. Yet, simply befriending Momo will not lift the burden placed upon her household. Caught between her duty as a demon and the relentless compassion of her intended rival, Yuko faces an impossible dilemma as she desperately searches for a way to save her family.
