Chill

In the near future, the sudden collapse of a powerful Far Eastern nation triggers a massive humanitarian crisis, driving millions of refugees into neighboring territories. Japan absorbs over two million displaced individuals, but rather than offering sanctuary, the government exiles them to an isolated offshore territory known simply as "The City." This containment zone rapidly deteriorates into a sprawling slum plagued by starvation, murder, and rampant sex trafficking, fueling severe hostility between the refugees and mainland Japan. As the refugee influx sparks a dramatic surge in criminal activity, specialized military units are established to maintain order. Among them is ACAT, an elite task force notorious for executing the most perilous operations while simultaneously suffering an unusually high casualty rate. Hida Riku, a new recruit, finds himself thrust into this unforgiving environment when he is partnered with Akagi Mika, a veteran female sniper within the unit. Known for her reckless and daring tactics, Mika’s bold approach to combat threatens to cut Riku's life short far sooner than he ever anticipated, forcing him to navigate both the dangers of their missions and the lethal unpredictability of his own partner.
