Blade Girl

Sixteen-year-old Rin has spent the past year enduring a grueling reality following the amputation of her leg. Exhausted by relentless physical therapy and weary of the pitying stares from those around her, she harbors deep resentment toward her cumbersome prosthetic limb. Her daily existence feels defined by limitation, until a chance encounter introduces her to the Blade Runners—a dedicated team of single-legged athletes who compete using specialized carbon-fiber running blades. These advanced prosthetics are crafted by Kazami, an exceptionally talented prosthetist whose creations are remarkably lightweight and flexible. However, mastering them proves to be a formidable challenge. The blades demand extraordinary balance and control, leaving Rin struggling merely to stand upright, let alone sprint. Despite repeatedly crashing to the ground during her early attempts, the relentless process of falling and rising begins to awaken something dormant within her. Through every stumble, Rin gradually recovers passions and strengths she believed were lost forever alongside her leg. Embracing the demanding training and the supportive community of the Blade Runners, she transforms her frustration into fierce determination. No longer defined by her disability, Rin sets her sights on an ambitious new horizon: competing at the highest level in the Paralympics.
