Nestled deep within the mountains and cut off from any railway access, the secluded town of Hoori feels suspended in time. Its isolation has preserved an old-world charm that ultimately transformed it into a beloved hot-springs destination for tourists. Among its most famous attractions is Murasamemaru, a sacred sword embedded in stone that no one has ever managed to remove—until Masaomi unexpectedly shatters the blade in half. Forced to take responsibility for this unprecedented act, he is suddenly bound to "marry" the local shrine maiden, Yoshino, leaving him utterly bewildered by the abrupt turn his life has taken. Yet this startling engagement is merely the beginning of Masaomi’s strange new reality. As he navigates his rapidly shifting circumstances, he is drawn into a deeply mysterious existence involving his new fiancée, a peculiar girl whom only he can physically touch, and a lingering curse that shadows the entire town. Thrust into a world far beyond his understanding, Masaomi must unravel the hidden secrets woven into Hoori’s history while confronting the complicated emotions blossoming around him. Ultimately, the fate of his heart and the truth behind the town's enigmatic past rest entirely within the broken fragments of Murasamemaru now in his hands.
