Arata’s quiet life is abruptly upended when a close friend asks him to take in an unexpected houseguest. That guest turns out to be Narumi, a man who quickly proves himself to be the ultimate freeloader. Far from being self-sufficient, Narumi is hopelessly clumsy and incapable of managing even the most basic daily tasks. His attempts at cooking inevitably end in near-disaster, threatening to burn down the kitchen, and he struggles so profoundly with personal care that he cannot even manage to get into the bath on his own. Faced with this relentless string of domestic catastrophes, Arata finds himself completely at a loss as to how to handle his new living situation. The burden of constantly supervising another grown adult is exhausting, yet despite his mounting frustration, something about Narumi's helpless nature makes it impossible for Arata to simply walk away. Instead of casting him out, Arata remains tethered to the chaotic arrangement, caught between exasperation and an inexplicable inability to leave the disaster-prone man alone.
