Wangan Midnight: C1 Runner

By the 2010s, the Japanese street racing scene has largely faded into history. Heightened police enforcement has driven motorsport enthusiasts away from public highways and onto professional circuits, while many veteran tuners from the golden era have quietly transitioned into working as ordinary mechanics. Amid this shifting landscape, Shinji Ogishima emerges as a rising automotive journalist with an ambitious vision: to resurrect the legendary tuning magazine, GT Cars, for a modern audience. During his efforts to revive the publication, Shinji crosses paths with Nob Setoguchi, a brash young street racer who pilots an FD RX-7. Although Nob possesses undeniable raw talent behind the wheel, he lacks any real understanding of automotive engineering, advanced driving techniques, or the world of journalism. Recognizing both his potential and his ignorance, the magazine takes him under its wing. Thus begins Nob’s transformation from a reckless street rascal into a dedicated car enthusiast, forging his own path within the newly reborn pages of GT Cars.
