Burn the House Down

Twenty-five-year-old Shizuka Yamauchi works as a housekeeper, quietly navigating the domestic spaces of others. Her current employer is forty-six-year-old Makiko Mitarai, an amateur model who projects the flawless image of a perfect housewife. To the outside world, the two women are nothing more than a professional pair—employer and employee sharing no deeper connection. However, beneath this carefully maintained facade lies a shared history that binds them together in ways neither openly acknowledges. Driven by a fierce sense of duty, Shizuka has taken this position with a singular purpose: to right the wrongs of the past and secure justice for her mother. She views her employment not merely as a job, but as a calculated mission to uncover the truth. Yet, Makiko is far from the simple, immaculate homemaker she appears to be. The older woman harbors deeply buried secrets of her own, adding dangerous layers of complexity to Shizuka's quest. As Shizuka delves deeper into Makiko’s private life, she realizes that exposing the truth will require absolute precision. One careless misstep could unravel her entire plan and leave her consumed by the very fire she intends to ignite. To bring her mother the justice she deserves, Shizuka must navigate this treacherous web of deception without getting burned herself.
