Kyuuyaku Märchen

Kyuuyaku Märchen serves as a manga adaptation of Sound Horizon’s seventh story CD, translating the musical narrative into a visual medium. Set against the melancholic backdrop of twilight, the story unfolds as a dark revenge tragedy that explores the lingering weight of forgotten vows. The narrative centers on a solemn promise exchanged between a young boy and girl in the distant past, raising the haunting question of whether their bond can endure through time and suffering to finally be fulfilled. As the curtain rises on this somber tale, readers are drawn into a world where memory and retribution intertwine beneath the fading light of dusk. The protagonist is caught in a cycle of vengeance driven by unresolved grief, navigating a landscape shaped by loss and unkept oaths. This atmospheric interpretation delves deep into the emotional resonance of the original work, examining how childhood innocence collides with the harsh realities of fate. Ultimately, the manga presents a poignant exploration of whether redemption can emerge from darkness, or if the tragic destiny set in motion long ago will consume all who remain bound by its sorrowful terms.
