Wave, Listen to Me!

Set against the backdrop of Sapporo, Hokkaido, Wave, Listen to Me! follows Minare Koda, a young woman whose life takes an unexpected turn after a single night out. Nursing the sting of heartbreak, she vents her frustrations to a stranger she meets at a bar, unaware that he is actually an employee at a local radio station. The following day, Minare is horrified to hear her drunken, deeply personal grievances broadcast live over the airwaves for the entire city to hear. Furious and humiliated, she storms into the radio station demanding answers. However, instead of offering a simple apology, the cunning station director manipulates the situation, tricking Minare into participating in an impromptu talk show to explain her fiery on-air rant. What begins as a desperate attempt to salvage her dignity quickly spirals into something far more complicated. That single, unplanned recording acts as a catalyst, pulling the many eccentric facets of Minare’s life in entirely new directions and drawing her ever deeper into the unpredictable world of radio broadcasting.
