Juu: Ninpou Makai Tensei

Set in the turbulent year of 1638 during the historic Shimabara Rebellion, Juu: Ninpou Makai Tensei represents the latest installment in Yamada Fuutarou’s renowned Ninpo-cho series. The narrative unfolds against a backdrop of violent conflict, where the line between life and death becomes terrifyingly blurred by dark supernatural forces. Amidst the chaos of war, a formidable swordsman who should have perished is instead subjected to a forbidden arcane ritual. Rather than claiming his life, this unholy magic twists him into a fearsome demonic entity, binding his martial prowess to an otherworldly corruption. As the rebellion rages on, this isolated incident proves to be only the beginning of a much darker phenomenon. One by one, additional swordsmen teetering on the brink of death are drawn into the same sinister transformation, reborn as monstrous warriors stripped of their humanity. With each fallen fighter resurrected through these profane rites, a growing legion of demonic swordsmen begins to gather strength in the shadows of the battlefield. As their numbers swell, a chilling question emerges from the carnage: what grand and terrible design could these newly forged demonic warriors possibly be orchestrating behind the veil of the rebellion?
