Mermaid Line

Mermaid Line is a collection of short manga series published in the Yuri Hime magazine. Each series is a standalone story, presented in an episodic format, much like a soap opera. In "Megumi and Aoi," Megumi confesses to her friend Aoi that she feels an inexplicable connection to the ocean, as if she were a mermaid. Aoi is captivated by the idea of being Megumi's prince, but Megumi's feelings for a boy force her to suppress her true emotions. As Aoi struggles to reconcile her own feelings, Megumi's relationship with the boy becomes a catalyst for her to confront her true desires. Ayumi's story, "Ayumi and Aika," takes a surprising turn when her boyfriend reveals that he wants to undergo a transformation to become a woman. Ayumi is taken aback by this revelation, and must come to terms with the changed dynamics of their relationship. In the midst of this upheaval, Ayumi must also confront her own feelings and desires. "Yukari and Mayuko" follows the lives of two working women, Yukari and Mayuko. Mayuko, tired of her string of boyfriends, asks Yukari to pretend to be her girlfriend. At first, the ruse is a success, but as Yukari becomes more invested in the charade, she starts to realize that her feelings for Mayuko run deeper than she initially thought. Meanwhile, Mayuko must navigate the complexities of her own emotions, all while keeping Yukari in the dark about her true intentions. In "Miura-san and Me," Okabe becomes smitten with Miura-san's striking appearance, particularly her hair. When Miura-san makes the bold decision to cut it all off, Okabe is forced to reevaluate his feelings and learn to love her for who she is, beyond her physical appearance.
