Summary

Official Details
A, A' is a collection of science fiction shoujo stories centered on a newly discovered human subspecies known as Unicorns. Across its narratives, the manga explores the depths of human emotion as characters struggle to connect with these beings, who lack many of the feelings humans naturally experience. The titular story poses a haunting dilemma: how does one cope when a deceased lover is replaced by an exact physical clone devoid of shared memories? It challenges the very foundation of intimacy, asking whether love can be rebuilt with someone identical in body but entirely foreign in mind. The remaining tales continue to weave complex emotional and psychological conflicts through a sci-fi lens. In "4/4," a teenager named Mori fails out of an ESP training program, only to discover that his latent psychic abilities begin to awaken after he encounters Trill, a beautiful Unicorn. Finally, "X+Y" utilizes its futuristic setting to examine questions of gender and sexual identity. Years later, Mori finds himself irresistibly drawn to another member of the Unicorn race, though this time both he and the object of his affection are male, pushing the boundaries of his understanding of love and self.
