Cruel Fairytales

Cruel Fairytales is an anthology of dark, interconnected stories exploring trauma, vengeance, and the supernatural. In the opening tale, a young boy named Martin and his sister attempt to flee their home, only to stumble upon a horrifying scene deep within the forest: women hanging lifeless from the trees. The gruesome discovery shatters their childhood, leaving both deeply traumatized before the younger sister vanishes into the night. Years later, a desperate adult Martin dedicates himself to tracking down his lost sibling. Another story follows Blanche, a girl who once lived a flawless life as the wealthy daughter of a powerful mayor. When her home is suddenly destroyed in a devastating explosion, she emerges as the sole survivor, stripped of everything she owned. Consumed by grief, she swears revenge against the culprit and forms an unlikely alliance with a mysterious boy to execute her plan. Elsewhere, a young Aleister watches his mother die on the floor after a brutal beating from his father. With her final breath, she leaves him a precious ring and promises to be reborn, urging him to wait for her. Seventeen years later, a chance encounter with a stranger causes the ring to mysteriously react. Finally, Teina possesses the rare ability to witness the past. Sergeant Kaiji enlists her help to investigate a string of sudden, brutal murders targeting police officers. Recognizing Kaiji as the lover from her previous life, Teina agrees to assist him, but when she attempts to use her power, a sinister, unseen force actively resists her, revealing that these killings conceal a far darker truth than anyone imagined.
